When I first came across Johannes’ work on Facebook, I was immediately drawn to his low light and night shots of Stockholm. As a fellow photographer, I love those golden and blue hours when natural light blesses you with some of the best visuals to work with. So I reached out to Johannes to learn more about him, his work, and what inspired him to focus on beautiful panoramic photos of Stockholm.

Johannes Rousseau was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He moved to Germany when he was five years old and grew up there. “I moved to Uppsala, Sweden in 2009, because I got married to my beautiful wife. As soon as I came into contact with a camera, I fell in love with photography,” shares Rousseau. “To capture great moments that will never be the same again fascinates me.”

Rousseau who works as a fulltime photographer mostly takes pictures of the cities of Stockholm and Uppsala. “I also love to paint, travel and to be out in the nature, ” he adds.

The idea for Beautiful Stockholm came about after the success of Beautiful Uppsala, and he focuses mostly on sunrise, sunset, and landscape shots of both cities.

Here are some of Johannes’ low light shots of Stockholm.
